Sweet Vanilla Gnocchi recipe
This tasty gnocchi dish is a great alternative to the usual savoury gnocchi dishes - serve with a little chocolate sauce or maple syrup for a wonderful Italian dessert.
Ingredients:
- 950ml milk
- 250g semolina
- 8 egg yolks
- 4 tbsp. caster sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
Directions:
Mix all ingredients in a saucepan, whisking constantly until the mixture begins to stiffen up. Continue cooking until after the mixture has stiffened, for a couple of minutes. Cook on a medium high heat.
Pour the gnocchi out into a greased baking dish, then leave to cool.
Once cool, cut into squares. To heat, place the squares onto a baking tray and then dot with bits of butter. Cook for 5-10 minutes in a 180C oven until heated through.
