Milk and Vanilla Gnocchi recipe
Preparation Time: 10 minutes | Cooking Time: 15 minutes
Gnocchi isn't just a savoury dish - it can be sweet, too! This dessert, made with potato starch, milk and sugar is laced with vanilla for a deliciously sweet and soft pud, perfect for children and adults.
Ingredients:
- 950ml full fat milk
- 250g sifted potato starch
- 8 egg yolks
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 4 tbsp. caster sugar
Directions:
Combine milk, starch, yolks, vanilla and sugar in a saucepan. Stir everything together until stiff, then continue cooking for another 1-2 minutes.
Spread into a lined baking tin so that the mixture is about an inch thick. Leave to cool completely. Cut into squares.
To cook, stack the squares in a baking dish and dot with butter, then bake until hot for 5-10 minutes in a 200C oven. Serve immediately.
